Citrus fruits

Orange

The vast majority of all our citrus fruits grow in the best Mediterranean fields. We have more than 1200 Ha of our own crops in the beautiful landscapes of the community of Valencia and Andalusia. The farming conditions are perfect, both due to the climate and the quality of the soil.

Orange

Orange

We select the different orange varieties depending on the season and we harvest each tree, by hand, in three stages over different weeks. We always look for the best fruit that grows on the sunny side. The oranges are only gathered when their flavour is at its very best. We never harvest them early, in order to ensure our customers the best flavour and quality.

Ripeness calendar

We work with different orange varieties to be able to offer you the very best fresh oranges for the most part of the year: Navelina, Lane Late, Navelate, Valencia Late, Salustiana, Orri, Chocolate Orange and Sanguinelli, among many others. Oranges provide a range of multiple benefits for the body, as well as uses related to its properties. One of the most important properties found in oranges is their famous vitamin C, which helps to strengthen the immune system; this vitamin is also involved in the synthesis of collagen and protection of bones and teeth. In addition, it favours the absorption of minerals including calcium, magnesium and iron.

Benefits for our health

Thanks to their extraordinary richness in vitamin C, fibre, potassium and non-nutritional components, such as flavonoids and limonoids, oranges provide endless therapeutic and beneficial properties for our health, such as the following:

REINFORCES IMMUNITY Thanks to their properties and benefits for the health, oranges should be a part of everyone’s diet, but they are especially suitable for those who have low defences and are more prone to colds, flu, respiratory allergies or herpes infections. They are antiviral and antibacterial, and they neutralise the action of free radicals.

IN CASE OF ANAEMIA Oranges are also advisable for people who are anaemic and young women who suffer from heavy periods, as its vitamin C favours the absorption of iron.

REGULATES CHOLESTEROL

DIGESTIVE WELLNESS Another health benefit of oranges is that they act as a stomach and intestinal regulator to relieve gastric spasms and slow and heavy digestions or dyspepsia. Furthermore, they have carminative properties for those who are prone to gas, bloating and flatulence. Given that they have a slight laxative effect, oranges are also suitable for constipation problems. Their high potassium content makes them suitable for people with high blood pressure.

STRONG BONES As a source of vitamin C and calcium, they help to protect bones and teeth. They are highly recommended to strengthen the joints and reduce the inflammation of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.

ELIMINATES IMPURITIES Oranges favour the elimination of uric acid through the urine and also have depurative properties. They prevent the formation of kidney stones and urinary tract infections, such as cystitis.

QUALITY ENERGY Oranges are rich in rapidly-absorbed sugars. For that reason, they are an excellent choice for sports activities outdoors or after physical exertion of any kind.

ANTI-CANCER Due to its antioxidant effect, certain scientific studies link the regular consumption of oranges with the possibility of reducing the risk of certain types of cancer, such as stomach and colon cancer. One of the reasons is that this fruit prevents nitrites provided by food from being transformed into carcinogenic nitrosamines.
